What We Do
Production With Purpose
Nerdy Bird Production Company believes the world around us is only as good as we're willing to make it. We strive to be a force for good in the world in the best way we know how - which is why we want to help Democratic candidates in North Georgia like you.

The political infrastructure in North Georgia is still being built and is stretched quite thin, which makes it difficult for Democratic candidates to find volunteers and donors. Nerdy Bird strives to be a vital part of this infrastructure and make it easy and affordable for Democratic candidates to produce quality messaging in audio/video format ready for online advertising, radio, or television and help connect you with volunteers, donors, and voters.

Our founder, Nick Mitchell, understands the value in running as a local Democratic candidate in a deeply Republican district. He proudly ran for State House in District 10 in 2020 alongside many others who stepped up to give North Georgia a meaningful choice. 2020 saw the most seats contested in North Georgia in a generation, and thanks to the hard work and dedication of each and every candidate, volunteer, donor, and voter - Georgia propelled Joe Biden to victory.

But there's more work to be done. To reach new voters, volunteers, and donors, you need a media strategy with quality content. That's where Nerdy Bird comes in. With our expertise, we'll craft a unique advertisement based on your campaign's priorities.
Step-By-Step
A little about the process
Creating a political ad from scratch is a daunting process, which is why we're here to assist at every step with professional insight and personal passion for the issues that led you to run for office in the first place.
Pre-Production
Building a Vision
Every project begins in the pre-production phase. This is where we'll sit down together and discuss the purpose of your advertisement. Is it for radio, online, or TV? Who's our target audience? What issues will we highlight? What's the call to action?
Once we figure out these basic ideas, we'll discuss concepts for the ad together. Nerdy Bird will then prepare a script and present it to you for your input and approval. Once the script is finalized, Nerdy Bird will begin planning for production.
Nerdy Bird will handle securing any equipment, locations, and actors needed based on the script. If your campaign has access to any resources you'd like to use for the production, such as volunteers or supporters willing to appear in the ad, we'll work that out at this stage.
Production
The Fun Part
Once Pre-Production is completed, Production begins. On the designated day, Nerdy Bird will get to work creating the footage for your advertisement. You should expect this to take a full day and keep your schedule clear. Our crew will handle all the logistics, scheduling, and technical work for production - you just need to be sure you're there at the designated time and are prepared to be on camera or have your voice recorded (depending on the script).
Post-Production
The Final Product
Once Production ends, Nerdy Bird will get to work editing the final product. Ideally, in 1 week's time, Nerdy Bird will present you a draft for your input, though it could take longer depending on how involved the script is. This is your opportunity to make notes about things you want adjusted for the final product.
Nerdy Bird will take your input and make any adjustments you ask for, and deliver you the advertisement you envisioned - ready to release.

Nerdy Bird is not an advertising firm, and does not handle securing advertising opportunities, though we're happy to offer advice on next steps to take if you don't already have a plan.
